Calvary Lutheran Church offers Confirmation Classes to 6th, 7th & 8th grade youth. Confirmation is a three year course including one year of Old Testament (Hebrew Scripture) study, one year of New Testament, and one year of Luther’s Small Catechism in which we study The Ten Commandments, The Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, Communion, and Lutheran Church history. Youth enter the program at 6th grade and have an opportunity to publically affirm their faith on Pentecost usually in May of their 8th grade year. The course is taught by Pastor Matthew and volunteer teachers.

Confirmation Classes for 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Youth, begin Sunday, September 12, 9:00 AM.
When a child is baptized, parents make promises to bring the child up in the Christian faith, place in their hands the Holy Scriptures, teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments and instruct them in the Christian faith. Calvary Lutheran Church, like many Christian churches, provides Confirmation classes to help parents fulfill these promises to instruct their children in the faith. Besides this, Confirmation offers youth a safe environment to ask questions, grow in faith and participate in Christian Community. At the end of 8th grade, Confirmation youth will have the opportunity to affirm their faith in the rite called “Affirmation of Baptism” or “Confirmation”.

We were so blessed this past Sunday, Day of Pentecost, to hear our confirmation students' Faith Statements. What an inspiration for us all!
Please continue to uphold them in prayer:
